Description
Satcomm offers now a technology that uses glass threads to transmit data. Fiber optics has many advantages over traditional metal communications lines. i.e. fiber optic cables have a much greater bandwidth than metal cables (more data can be carried), cables are less susceptible than metal cables to interference, fiber optic cables are much thinner and lighter than metal wires and more -data can be transmitted digitally.
