Trident IoT Enters Smart Home Industry to Simplify RF Development and Accelerate Time-to-Market

Trident IoT is a new technology and engineering company that aims to simplify RF development and decrease time-to-market for connected device manufacturers in the smart home industry. The company will serve as a direct supplier of Z-Wave solutions and also manufacture proprietary silicon and modules. In addition, Trident IoT will offer product design and development consulting for any RF technology, UL and ETL preparation, and U.S.-based Z-Wave device certification.

The founders of Trident IoT, Mariusz Malkowski, Michael Lamb, and Bill Scheffler, noticed that supply chain issues and limited access to product-specific design consultation were hindering development processes in the industry. To address these issues, they formed Trident IoT with the goal of streamlining the development process for Z-Wave devices equipped with next-gen advancements in technology.

Trident IoT’s partnership with Z-Wave will bring forth new possibilities for smart home solutions. As a direct supplier of Z-Wave chips and modules, Trident IoT will provide connected device manufacturers with a reliable source for these components. Additionally, the company will offer personalized product engineering support and U.S.-based Z-Wave certification. The partnership aims to foster the development of new features, enhancements, and custom applications on Z-Wave Technology.

Trident IoT’s operational Z-Wave certification lab in New Jersey will allow North American manufacturers to communicate and resolve certification issues more efficiently. The company’s goal is to help Z-Wave device members continue innovating and implementing new features, such as Z-Wave Long Range, which enables new use cases with advanced capabilities.

This partnership between the Z-Wave Alliance and Trident IoT will open up new opportunities for integrators in various market categories. It marks a significant milestone for the industry, as developers now have access to an additional silicon resource that can expedite the launch of Z-Wave devices.

Overall, Trident IoT’s entry into the smart home industry brings new expertise and resources that will accelerate RF development and benefit the entire Z-Wave ecosystem.
