Three Injured in Shooting During Dispute Over Satellite TV Service Business

Three individuals sustained injuries during a scuffle over a satellite TV service business in the Kathgara area of Ashulia, Dhaka on Wednesday (25 October). According to locals, four or five cocktails also exploded at the scene. The injured parties have been identified as Saidur Rahman Sarkar, aged 50, Manik Sarkar, aged 38, and Sharif Sarkar, aged 36.

Dhaka District Police Additional Superintendent of Police (Savar Circle), Md Shahidul Islam, stated that the incident arose from a dispute regarding satellite cable business. The matter is currently under investigation.

The injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar. Manik Sarkar, one of the injured parties, recounted the events, stating that Ashru and his group had been causing problems for some time, including cutting the wires of their network to take over their satellite cable business. Ashru had called them to his office to resolve the matter.

Manik Sarkar continued, “This evening, we had a meeting with Ashru in the Kathgara area. At one point, both sides became agitated. As we were leaving the meeting, Asru and his group started firing at us from behind. A total of three people, including myself, were shot during the incident.”

Additional details about the incident are currently unknown.
