NASA and SpaceX have announced their readiness for the upcoming launch of four astronauts to the International Space Station. The Crew-7 mission, operated by NASA and SpaceX, will include American astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli, European Space Agency astronaut Andreas Mogensen, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Satoshi Furukawa, and Russian astronaut Konstantin Borisov from Roscosmos.

The team of international astronauts recently left NASA’s Houston facility after undergoing months of intensive training. They have now made their way to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to prepare for their journey to orbit. Aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft, named Endurance, the astronauts will live and work on the ISS for the duration of their six-month mission, orbiting approximately 250 miles above Earth.

The launch is scheduled for 3:49 a.m. ET on Friday from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The Dragon spacecraft is expected to dock with the ISS at 2:02 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 26. The Crew-7 mission marks the eighth human spaceflight mission supported by a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. This mission is significant as it will be NASA’s first involving professional astronauts since the Crew-6 flight in February. It will also be the agency’s first crewed flight since the Ax-2 mission three months ago, which carried four private citizens for a short stay on the ISS.

With all systems in place and preparations underway, NASA and SpaceX are ready to embark on another successful mission to the International Space Station.
