An Investigation into Possible Russian Spy Ring in Britain

When Bizer Dzhambazov installed a satellite dish on his west London home, his neighbors were puzzled. It seemed to be pointing in the wrong direction compared to other dishes in the street. Undeterred, Dzhambazov attempted to install an even larger dish on the exterior wall, but his neighbors complained that it would block sunlight to their home. Interestingly, Dzhambazov had told his neighbors that he worked for Interpol.

Dzhambazov, along with his partner Katrin Ivanova, lived in a flat in Northolt and a guest house on the East Anglian coast. These properties have now become the focus of an investigation into a potential Russian spy ring operating in Britain. Both Dzhambazov and Ivanova, along with Orlin Roussev, a tech entrepreneur from Great Yarmouth, were arrested earlier this year on suspicion of offenses under the Official Secrets Act and the Identity Documents Act. They are believed to have had fake passports and identity cards for multiple countries.

Although all three individuals are Bulgarian, they are suspected of working for Moscow. They have lived in the UK for around a decade, with one of them having had previous links to the Bulgarian government. They frequently changed addresses in west London.

The flat in Northolt is near RAF Northolt, a secure airport used by the Prime Minister, the Royal family, and other government ministers. Dzhambazov’s neighbors remember him as a confident man who claimed to work for Interpol. He drove a black BMW, and his partner drove a silver scooter. There was also a dispute regarding the positioning of their satellite dishes.

The couple later moved to Harrow, where they were frequently seen with visitors. Dzhambazov was described as a driver for local hospitals, while Ivanova worked in various occupations including as a medical laboratory assistant and office manager. Roussev, on the other hand, specialized in artificial intelligence and signals intelligence, with ties to the Bulgarian energy ministry.

Earlier this year, Roussev moved to a guest house in Great Yarmouth. Police conducted a search of the property and erected a crime scene tent. Locals reported seeing masked men dressed in black searching the address. It was believed that the guest house had been closed for business for several months.

The investigation into the possible Russian spy ring continues, as authorities gather more information about the activities of Dzhambazov, Ivanova, and Roussev in the UK.
