2023 Brevard County Prep Football Season Kicks Off this Week

The 2023 Brevard County prep football season is set to open this week with Kickoff Classic games. This will mark the 29th season of high school football coverage for Space Coast Daily and the Friday Night Locker Room team. Live game coverage will be brought to you by Erdman Automotive, Health First, Eastern Florida State, and All Points.

On Thursday, the defending State Champion Cocoa Tigers will host the Satellite Scorpions in a Kickoff Classic match-up at Dick Blake Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Tigers, currently ranked No. 1 in the Space Coast Daily-Friday Night Locker Room Power 7 Ranking, will defend their home field for the first time since becoming State Champions last December. They will use this game as preparation for a challenging three-game stretch to start the regular season.

Satellite, under second-year head coach Brian Helton, narrowly missed the cut in the Space Coast Daily-Friday Night Locker Room Power 7 Ranking. They finished last season with a record of 5-6. This game will serve as an early test for the team as they aim for a strong season in 2023.

In addition to the Cocoa vs Satellite match-up, there are other Kickoff Classic games scheduled for this week. On Friday, John Carroll Academy will face Holy Trinity, and Carrollwood Day will play against Rockledge. These games will also be broadcast live on Space Coast Daily TV.

The coverage this year on Space Coast Daily TV will feature a dynamic lineup of broadcasters, including Steve Wilson, Orville Susong, Tom Palermo, Jim Palermo, Giles Malone, Zach Clark, Juan Rodriguez, Ron Lighthall, Terry Spain, Matt O’Hern, Gavin Keith, and Brian Dillon.

Do not miss out on the live sports broadcasts on Space Coast Daily TV, which will include player interviews, replays, highlights, pre-game and post-game analysis, and much more.

The 2023 Brevard County prep football season is filled with exciting games and matchups. The Astronaut War Eagles, Bayside Bears, Cocoa Tigers, Cocoa Beach Minutemen, and Eau Gallie Commodores are among the teams that will be competing this season. Stay tuned for more high school football action in Brevard County.
