Colorado-based startup True Anomaly recently unveiled its new manufacturing facility, GravityWorks, which spans 35,000 square feet. The facility will be used to produce the company’s Jackal spacecraft, with the aim of manufacturing a “mission-ready” satellite every five days. True Anomaly CEO Even Rogers stated that GravityWorks was designed to meet the production volume required by customers and to find innovative solutions at the intersection of hardware, software, and AI.

The Jackal spacecraft developed by True Anomaly are designed for rendezvous and proximity operations, making them ideal for satellite servicing missions such as in-orbit refueling and repair. During the factory’s grand opening event, it was announced that True Anomaly had received authorization from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Federal Communications Commission for its Jackal vehicle to perform rendezvous and proximity missions. The spacecraft was also approved to use its onboard sensors for non-Earth imaging, enabling it to collect data even in low-light conditions.

True Anomaly has recently achieved several milestones. In April, the company emerged from stealth mode and secured million in private capital. In June, it announced plans to launch two Jackal spacecraft for simulated and live training range services, scheduled to be part of SpaceX’s Transporter-10 mission in February 2024. True Anomaly intends to offer its capabilities to the Space Force’s National Space Test and Training Complex, which aims to prepare operators for satellite control and system validation.

Overall, the opening of the GravityWorks facility and the authorizations received showcase True Anomaly’s progress and commitment to meeting the demands of military space customers.
