SpaceX is scheduled to launch a Starlink mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Wednesday night, weather permitting. The mission will be carried out by a Falcon 9 rocket, which will deploy 22 internet satellites into orbit. The launch is set to take place from Canaveral’s Space Launch Complex 40 at 9:55 p.m., with two backup launch opportunities at 11:36 p.m. and midnight. SpaceX had previously passed on two earlier launch opportunities, but now has additional options for a launch window on Thursday.

The weather squadron of Space Launch Delta 45 initially forecasted poor conditions for the launch, with only a 20% chance of favorable weather at the original launch target time of 8 p.m. However, the weather conditions are expected to improve, with a 65% chance of good conditions by the final launch opportunity. Similar conditions will be in place in case of a 24-hour delay.

This particular launch will mark the 42nd Space Coast launch of the year, with almost all of them being conducted by SpaceX. It will also be the 56th launch of the year for Elon Musk’s company, including launches from California.

During this mission, the first-stage booster of the Falcon 9 rocket will be making its 13th flight. SpaceX will once again attempt to recover the booster on the droneship named “A Shortfall of Gravitas” in the Atlantic. The droneship serves as a platform for landing and reusing the boosters to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

Overall, SpaceX continues to make significant progress in its ambitious Starlink project, aiming to provide global broadband coverage through its satellite constellation.
