Progress of India’s Chandrayaan 3 Lunar Mission Assured by ISRO Chairman

Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), S Somanath, has expressed confidence in the progress of the forthcoming lunar mission, Chandrayaan 3, and reassured that all systems are operating as planned. This mission, India’s third lunar exploration endeavor, aims to build upon the successes of Chandrayaan 1 and Chandrayaan 2.

Mr. Somanath provided updates on the successful launch of GSAT-24, a communication satellite, which showcases ISRO’s multi-faceted approach to space technology and further solidifies India’s position as a key player in the field of satellite communication.

As Chandrayaan 3 progresses towards its targeted landing on August 23, ISRO’s dedication to precision and diligent efforts are evident. The mission includes a series of manoeuvres leading up to the landing, and the satellite is reported to be in a healthy condition.

The updates shared by Mr. Somanath highlight ISRO’s unwavering commitment to advancing space exploration and technology. They reflect the nation’s scientific and technological prowess reaching new heights.

The High Commissioner of Singapore to India, Simon Wong, congratulated India and ISRO on the successful insertion phase of Chandrayaan 3. He praised the mission’s photographs of the moon, expressing awe and appreciation.

ISRO also released the first pictures of the moon taken by Chandrayaan 3, showcasing the beauty of the lunar surface. According to ISRO, the spacecraft entered the lunar orbit after traveling approximately two-thirds of the way since its launch on July 14.

The progress of Chandrayaan 3 and the achievements of GSAT-24 signify India’s continuous advancements in space exploration and technology. ISRO’s efforts are an inspiration to the scientific community and contribute to the nation’s growth in the field.
