Polygon Labs and SK Telecom Collaborate on NFT Marketplace and Web3 Apps

Polygon Labs, the development studio behind Polygon (MATIC), has partnered with South Korean telecom provider SK Telecom. The collaboration aims to support SK Telecom in building and promoting its own Web3 ecosystem. As part of the partnership, Polygon (MATIC) will be available on SK Telecom’s non-fungible token marketplace, TopPort, and its cryptocurrency wallet.

Through the TopPort marketplace, users will be able to seamlessly mint Polygon-based NFTs and transfer them to other marketplaces within the Polygon (MATIC) ecosystem. Polygon Labs CEO, Marc Boiron, believes that this collaboration is an important step towards providing Web3 experiences to a wider audience and furthering Polygon’s dominance in the Web3 segment.

In addition to the NFT marketplace integration, Polygon Ventures, the investment arm of Polygon Labs, will invest in start-ups recommended by SK Telecom. This collaboration aims to create valuable business opportunities and boost the Web3 ecosystem.

Polygon (MATIC) has gained popularity as a blockchain for NFTs outside of Ethereum. In July 2023, it surpassed the Solana (SOL) network in terms of 30-day NFT trading volume. This achievement highlights the growing demand for Polygon-based solutions in the NFT space.

In July 2023, Polygon also announced an ambitious rebranding plan. The core native asset of Polygon (MATIC) will be replaced by POL token, enabling staking on various Polygon-based blockchains through a single account.

The collaboration between Polygon Labs and SK Telecom is expected to support the growth of the Web3 ecosystem and further establish Polygon as a leading player in the blockchain industry.
