North Korea may conduct spy satellite launch in August or September

According to a South Korean lawmaker, North Korea is planning to conduct another spy satellite launch by the end of August or early September. The country’s intelligence agency has provided this information. Although the first military satellite launch in May was a failure, North Korea has expressed its determination to put another satellite into orbit.

Yoo Sang-bum, a member of the South Korean parliament, stated after meeting with the chief of the country’s intelligence agency that if North Korea manages to address the defects, there is a possibility that the satellite launch will take place on September 9th, in commemoration of the country’s founding anniversary. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has placed great emphasis on conducting a launch during the second half of this year.

In addition to the satellite launch, North Korea is also preparing for military actions, including the potential launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile. These actions are intended to protest against the upcoming three-way summit between the United States, South Korea, and Japan, as well as the joint military exercises conducted by the U.S. and South Korea.

On Friday, U.S. President Joe Biden will hold a summit at Camp David with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The discussions at the summit are expected to cover a range of regional and global issues, including security concerns related to North Korea.

It is crucial to closely monitor the situation in North Korea and its potential actions, as they can have significant implications for regional stability and international relations.
