Iran Launches Production Process of State-of-the-Art Satellite

The Iranian Space Organization (ISA) has announced the commencement of the production process for its latest satellite, “Pars-3.” Head of the organization, Hassan Salarieh, made the announcement, stating that the ISA has taken a significant step towards designing and producing indigenous remote sensing satellites with exceptional accuracy. The production procedures for “Pars-2” and “Pars-3” have officially begun.

According to Salarieh, “Pars-2” and “Pars-3” are equipped with imaging precision of four and two meters respectively. These satellites mark another milestone in Iran’s capabilities in manufacturing and launching satellites, placing the country among the top 10 nations in the world in this field.

Iran has made significant advancements in space technology over the years. The country successfully launched its first satellite, Omid (Hope), in 2009, followed by the Rasad (Observation) satellite in 2011. In 2012, Iran achieved the successful orbit of its third domestically-made satellite, Navid (Good News). The country also celebrated the successful launch of its first military satellite into orbit in April 2020, and its second military satellite in March 2022.

Iran’s commitment to space technology was further exemplified by the launch of the high-resolution imaging satellite, Khayyam, in August of last year. This satellite was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan using a Soyuz 2.1 B rocket operated by Moscow.

In February, Iran unveiled two indigenous telecommunications and imaging satellites, Nahid-2 (Venus-2), and Tolou-3 (Sunrise-3). These technological achievements were showcased during Iran’s National Space Technology Day in May, highlighting the country’s continued advancements in this field.
