Google Introduces New Feature for Taking Screenshots on YouTube

Google has introduced a new screenshot feature for YouTube, currently in beta testing, which simplifies the process for users. The feature is expected to be available to all Chrome users soon. To use the feature, users simply need to pause a YouTube video while watching it in Chrome, right-click on the video, and select the “Save video frame as” option from the drop-down menu. The image can then be saved as a PNG file.

The new feature is particularly useful for users who only want a screenshot of the video frame, eliminating the need for manual cropping or capturing screenshots of the entire screen. With just a few clicks, users can capture an image of the video in its original resolution.

One user, @Leopeva64, demonstrated how the feature works on X.

For those interested in testing out new Chrome features before they are released to the wider public, Google recommends downloading Chrome Beta.
