Digi has recently updated its international data roaming plans to include an “unlimited” 5G roaming pass. Priced at RM98, this pass is valid for 30 days and can be used in 57 countries.

Previously, Digi offered the World Traveller 30-day multi-country roaming pass for RM95, which provided 30GB of data and 30 minutes of calls in 69 countries.

According to Digi, the new 30-day Unlimited Internet pass offers affordable data roaming for travelers, automatically selecting the best local operator for you. In certain countries, you may also enjoy roaming with multiple local telcos. Additionally, this pass allows you to access 5G roaming in selected countries with supported 5G networks.

It’s important to note that this “unlimited” monthly roaming pass has a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 2GB high-speed data per day. After reaching the daily limit, your speed will be reduced to up to 1Mbps, which is suitable for web browsing, navigation, social media updates, and lower-definition video streaming.

While the new plan offers “unlimited” data, the previous monthly roaming pass appears to offer more flexibility. It provides 30GB of data to be utilized within the month, allowing for more than 2GB of high-speed data usage in a single day. Additionally, the older pass includes 30 minutes of voice calls and supports 69 countries, compared to the new pass which covers 57 countries.

For those seeking a shorter option, Digi also offers a 7-day Unlimited Internet Pass for RM58, which covers 20 countries including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Furthermore, Digi has expanded its Roam Like Home offering for postpaid customers. This add-on now covers 70 countries and costs RM35 per month. Depending on your postpaid plan, you can receive free roaming data, with Digi Postpaid 90 getting 5GB, Postpaid 120 getting 20GB, and Postpaid 150 getting 25GB of roaming data.

If you exceed your free roaming data limit, your data browsing will be suspended until you purchase a new roaming pass. Customers who subscribed to the previous version of Roam Like Home before August 1st received coverage in 10 countries with 10GB of data per month, along with 60 minutes of roaming calls and IDD calls back to Malaysia.
