China’s Rapid Development of 5G Network

China has made significant progress in the development of its 5G network. As of July, the country has built a total of 3.055 million 5G base stations, which accounts for 26.9 percent of the total number of mobile base stations in China. This information comes from a report released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The report further states that during the same period, the number of 5G mobile phone users in China reached 695 million, making up 40.6 percent of the total number of mobile phone users. This indicates a growing adoption of 5G technology in the country.

Additionally, China has seen an increase in gigabit broadband access users, totaling 134 million during the seven-month period. This represents 21.7 percent of the total number of users.

The report also provides financial insights, revealing that the cumulative business income of China’s three major telecommunications companies, China Telecom, China Mobile Communication Group, and China Unicom, was 1.0056 trillion yuan (7.99 billion). This represents a year-on-year increase of 6.2 percent.

The revenue from cloud computing and big data increased significantly, with a growth rate of 35.5 percent and 42.2 percent respectively. The Internet of Things also experienced growth at 25.7 percent.

Furthermore, the cumulative access traffic of mobile internet users in China reached 167.7 billion GB, showing a year-on-year increase of 14.7 percent.

These figures demonstrate China’s commitment to the development of advanced communication technologies and the rapid growth of its 5G network.
