The Albanian Government Blocks Internet Access for MKO Members in Camp

The Albanian government has taken measures to block Internet access for members of the Mujahedin-e Khalq Organization (MKO) in their camp near Tirana. The decision to turn off Internet access at the Ashraf-3 camp, located outside Manze, is in response to cyber-attacks carried out by the MKO.

To prevent terrorist activities and sabotage attacks, the Albanian police raided the camp in June and confiscated 150 computer devices used for these purposes. During the clashes that occurred during the raid, one member of the MKO was killed and others were injured.

On August 12, Kazem Gharibabadi, secretary of Iran’s High Council for Human Rights, announced that Iran has filed a large case against more than 100 members of the MKO. The goal is to hold them accountable for the terrorist acts they have committed, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of Iranians. Gharibabadi emphasized Iran’s determination to combat terrorism and terrorist organizations.

Gharibabadi revealed that the case has been sent to an Iranian court for adjudication. The defendants have been notified via email, and a separate branch has been established to oversee the proceedings. The court will soon commence its work according to the criminal procedure.

Iran has been exerting pressure on countries that house MKO members, urging them to acknowledge the terrorist nature of the group and take restrictive measures against its members. Gharibabadi expressed Iran’s dissatisfaction with the current situation and demanded that host nations either expel the MKO members or bring them to justice.

It is worth noting that several Western nations have independently recognized the MKO as a terrorist group and have imposed limitations on its activities. Iran welcomes these actions and continues to advocate for the removal or prosecution of MKO members residing in these countries.
