SpaceX to Launch Falcon 9 Rocket with 22 Starlink Satellites

Live updates are available as SpaceX is targeting 9:55 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, Aug. 16 for the launch of a Falcon 9 rocket and 22 Starlink internet satellites from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The weather conditions at the opening of the window were reported to be 20% “go” but are expected to improve to 65% by the end.

After liftoff, the Falcon 9 will fly along a southeastern trajectory and land on the Just Read the Instructions drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. If the schedules hold, this will be the 42nd launch on the Space Coast this year.

SpaceX teams at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station are currently counting down to the liftoff of the Falcon 9 rocket with the 22 Starlink satellites. The weather conditions were initially reported to be 20% “go” at the opening of the launch window, but are expected to improve to 65% by the close. Fueling is set to start 38 minutes ahead of liftoff.
