India is set to open its first gigafactory, dedicated to manufacturing rechargeable batteries for electric vehicles (EVs). The CEO of Ola Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal, announced that the facility will begin operations next year. Initially, the factory will have a capacity of 5 GWh, but the company has ambitious plans to make it the world’s largest battery manufacturing plant, with a capacity of 100 GWh.

Ola Electric aims to contribute to India’s transition to electric mobility by focusing on the production of high-quality batteries for EVs.
