Take-Two Interactive Software has provided guidance for F2Q revenue, expecting .26 billion to .31 billion, which is lower than FactSet’s estimate of .47 billion. The company also anticipates an adjusted profit of 95 cents to .05 per share, while the FactSet consensus is .16 per share. This news has caused Take-Two’s after-hours trading to rise by 0.62%.

In F1Q, Take-Two Interactive Software reported revenue of .28 billion, surpassing Wall Street estimates. However, the implied adjusted profit has decreased by 61% to 27 cents per share, falling short of analysts’ expectation of 33 cents per share. Take-Two launched “Marvel’s Midnight Suns,” “Lego 2K Drive,” and “After Us” during the quarter, and they stated that gamers are more inclined to spend on established franchises rather than new properties. Furthermore, their 2013 release, “Grand Theft Auto V,” has now sold over 185 million units to retailers, representing an increase of about 5 million units from the previous quarter. As a result, Take-Two’s after-hours trading has risen by 3%.

Roblox is expected to report 5 million in net bookings and million in adjusted EBITDA for 2Q, an improvement from last year’s 9.9 million in net bookings and .6 million in adjusted EBITDA. The introduction of virtual billboards and portals for brand advertisements within user-made games is not predicted to have a significant impact on earnings at this time.

The CW, owned by Nexstar, is considered well-positioned during the Hollywood strikes. The network’s fall content slate has already been developed or is unscripted, leading CEO Perry Sook to believe that their pre-produced shows and reality content can be a differentiator if the strike persists. Despite this advantage, shares have fallen 3.9% to 6.86.

Netflix has launched a smartphone app called “Netflix Game Controller,” allowing subscribers to play mobile games on their TV screens. The streaming video giant has been expanding its interactive entertainment offerings and currently offers around 70 mobile games to subscribers. They plan to add 30 more by the end of the year. Although it is only available on iOS devices, Netflix has not disclosed which games will be playable with the app.

Radio broadcaster iHeartMedia sees opportunity in the Hollywood strikes as it believes the impact on content distribution and creation could negatively affect video audiences. This situation provides a chance for iHeartMedia to showcase the power and value of audio media, including podcasting and radio, to advertisers and agencies. However, iHeartMedia expects a temporary decline in revenue for the current quarter before recovery later in the year, causing its shares to fall by 13%.

AMC Entertainment Holdings experienced its highest quarterly attendance since before the pandemic, with 66.37 million attendees in 2Q, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous year. This boost has led the movie theater chain to a profit.
