TalkTalk Extends Partnership with Gamma Communications

The wholesale division of broadband ISP TalkTalk has announced a new agreement with business provider Gamma Communications. This extension will prolong their existing partnership for another three years until at least April 2026. The companies have worked together since 2002, although this would actually make it a 21-year partnership instead of the claimed 25 years.

While the announcement lacks specific details, TalkTalk has previously supplied Gamma with Ethernet connectivity solutions for their business customers. This collaboration has been beneficial for both parties over the years.

It is important to note that TalkTalk is currently facing the possibility of a break-up due to debt pressures. This could lead to the sale of the business and wholesale divisions. Therefore, this announcement may be a strategic move by TalkTalk to showcase their value and secure existing relationships with potential buyers.

TalkTalk’s MD of Business Wholesale Services, Tom O’Hagan, expressed his satisfaction with the extended partnership. He emphasized the importance of continuing their longstanding relationship with Gamma as they transition to the next generation of products.

The reference to “next generation products” likely points to the use of optical fiber-based Ethernet solutions provided by companies such as Openreach and CityFibre. These advanced solutions offer improved performance and capabilities compared to traditional connectivity options.

Overall, TalkTalk’s extended partnership with Gamma Communications highlights the strength of their collaboration and highlights their commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to their business customers.
