This Week in Rocket Launches: Starlink Satellites and More

On Sunday, SpaceX will be performing two Starlink launches using their Falcon 9 B5 rockets. The first launch is scheduled for 6:28 a.m. UTC from Vandenberg AFB Space Launch Complex 4. SpaceX will be launching 22 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit as part of the Starlink Group 7-6. The second launch is set for 10:48 p.m. UTC from Space Launch Complex 40. Another group of 23 Starlink satellites, known as Starlink Group 6-25, will be sent into orbit to join the existing Starlink constellation.

Moving on to Tuesday, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) will be launching their Long March 4C rocket at 11:09 p.m. UTC from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre. The payload for this mission has not been disclosed.

On Thursday, SpaceX will be launching another Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at 10:48 p.m. UTC. This time, the rocket will carry 23 Starlink satellites, forming the Starlink Group 6-26. These satellites have been painted with anti-reflective coatings to minimize interference with astronomical observations.

Finally, on Friday, the CNSA will launch their Long March 7A rocket at 8:00 a.m. UTC from Wenchang Satellite Launch Centre. The payload for this mission remains unknown.

In a recap of last week’s launches, SpaceX successfully launched their Falcon 9 rocket, carrying Starlink satellites in the Starlink 116 mission. The first stage of the rocket was also recovered for reuse. Additionally, the CNSA launched the Yaogan 39 remote sensing satellite using the Long March 2D rocket. Finally, China launched the Shenzhou 17 crew spacecraft to the Tiangong Space Station, carrying three astronauts.

That concludes our update on rocket launches for this week. Stay tuned for more updates in the future.
