Starlink Offers Discount on Hardware Fees for Australians in Remote Areas

For the past few months, Starlink has been providing substantial discounts on hardware fees for Australians residing in remote and regional areas. While the regular cost of Starlink hardware can be as high as 4, eligible individuals in select rural locations can purchase it for just 9 until August 25.

Although 9 is higher than the lowest discount previously offered at 9, it is still considerably more affordable than the standard price. Starlink’s residential plans, priced at 9 per month, are relatively expensive compared to satellite internet offerings such as the unlimited Sky Muster Plus Premium plans, which typically max out at per month.

If the current National Broadband Network (NBN) service is not meeting expectations, Starlink may be a viable alternative. Starlink plans are contract-free and come with a 30-day trial period. Customers who cancel within the first 30 days and return the hardware will receive a full refund for the equipment, excluding shipping and handling fees.

In addition to offering discounts, Starlink has also been making significant strides in the Australian market through partnerships with Telstra and Optus. Telstra plans to resell Starlink internet plans bundled with a home phone service by the end of the year, while Optus aims to leverage Starlink satellites to enhance its mobile coverage starting from late 2024.

By expanding its presence and providing affordable options in remote areas, Starlink aims to bridge the digital divide and offer reliable internet connectivity to underserved communities in Australia.
