Gameloft has made a significant announcement regarding Disney Dreamlight Valley, stating that the game will no longer be free-to-play after it exits early access. Instead, it will be a paid adventure, with the option for players to purchase premium content and upcoming expansions.

According to Gameloft, this decision was made after a year of analyzing player behavior and investment in the game. They have learned from the success of Disney Dreamlight Valley to date and have decided to remain a paid game for the foreseeable future. This choice allows them to continue delivering a premium gaming experience for all players.

While the game will now have paid content, Gameloft has also promised to provide free updates to all players. These updates will include new characters, realms, clothing, furniture, and more surprises.

In addition to this announcement, Gameloft has detailed the first major paid expansion for the game, titled ‘A Rift in Time.’ This expansion will introduce new friends, biomes, and gameplay features. The full details of this expansion will be revealed in a special Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase.

To access the expansion, players can purchase the expansion pass for .99 at launch. It will come with 5,000 Moonstones, the digital currency used to unlock items on the premium Star Path track.

Furthermore, Gameloft has provided information about the upcoming release editions of Disney Dreamlight Valley. The base game will be available digitally for .99, while the Cozy Edition will be a physical release priced at .99. The Gold Edition, priced at .99, will be a digital release. Each edition comes with various bonus items and Moonstones.

Players who already own the early access version of the game will receive all the cosmetic items included in the Gold Edition on launch, as well as a bonus of 2,500 Moonstones.
