Benchmark Space Systems Announces New Headquarters and Unveils SmartAIM System

Burlington, Vermont-based Benchmark Space Systems has recently made two major announcements. Firstly, following a successful million Series B round, the company will be relocating to a larger headquarters. Secondly, Benchmark has introduced a new system called SmartAIM, which they claim to be the first autopilot for satellites.

Benchmark specializes in providing propulsion systems that offer cost-effective solutions for prolonging the life of small satellites in orbit. Their propulsion systems include the Halcyon system, which utilizes eco-friendly propellants, as well as a collision avoidance kit that incorporates the Halcyon system. Additionally, they have developed the Xantus Metal Plasma Thruster.

SmartAIM, their latest innovation, aims to provide an automated system for controlling satellites. This autopilot system is designed to enable satellites to autonomously adjust their positioning, avoid collisions, and perform necessary maneuvers without the need for human intervention.
