Analysts Optimistic about Enterprise Wi-Fi Market Growth

The Wi-Fi market, especially in the enterprise segment, is expected to experience significant growth in the coming years, driven by the new Wi-Fi 7 standard. According to market analysts, the adoption of Wi-Fi 6E/7 devices is already surpassing that of previous Wi-Fi standards.

Dell’Oro Group predicts that the enterprise Wi-Fi 7 equipment market will reach billion by 2027, while 650 Group forecasts a market value of .6 billion for the same period. Additionally, ABI Research estimates that the total enterprise WLAN market will reach an impressive .5 billion by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.7% between 2022 and 2028.

One of the emerging trends in enterprise Wi-Fi is the introduction of “Network-as-a-Service” (NaaS) managed services. Major players in the industry, as well as newcomer Nile, now offer NaaS as part of their service portfolio.

Comcast has also introduced a new offering called “Xfinity Storm Ready WiFi.” This service provides a Wi-Fi 6 mesh access point with built-in LTE cellular connectivity and a battery backup lasting up to 4 hours. In the event of a power outage, the device automatically switches to cellular backhaul, ensuring uninterrupted internet access.

In an effort to promote satellite-backed Wi-Fi solutions, Wi-Fi NOW has partnered with the Mobile Satellite Users Association (MSUA). The growing satellite industry, with advancements such as new Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations and upgraded GEO satellites, presents opportunities for delivering better and more accessible broadband services around the world.

These developments demonstrate the positive outlook for enterprise Wi-Fi market growth, driven by advancements in Wi-Fi standards, managed services, and satellite technology integration.
