Adriana Cisneros Expands Cisneros Group’s Investments with Satellite Broadband Venture

Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros Group, has made a significant investment in AST SpaceMobile Inc, a company that aims to provide space-based broadband cellular network services to rural areas worldwide. Despite AST’s recent decrease in value since going public, Cisneros believes in the potential success of the investment. As the lead investor in the Series A round, she contributed million to the Midland-based company. AST has also garnered support from major backers, including Vodafone, Rakuten, and American Tower. The company has already launched its first satellite and secured partnerships with leading telecom companies.

The Cisneros family, once one of the wealthiest in Latin America, has a history of successful business ventures. Adriana’s father, Gustavo Cisneros, turned the Cisneros Group into a media empire with Venevision TV network and other brands, such as the Miss Venezuela beauty pageant. The family relocated to Miami due to political turmoil in Venezuela.

Adriana Cisneros continues the family’s legacy by identifying opportunities for growth and innovation. She established a digital ad sales business in Latin America and sold it to Entravision in 2021. With the proceeds, she invested in Uruguay-based startup Electric Factory and plans to develop it into a global player. Cisneros also sits on the boards of AST, Electric Factory, and Mattel Inc.

Cisneros sees potential in expanding the Miss Venezuela business, which is like the Super Bowl for Venezuelans, by extending its content and revenue streams. A Venevision super app will be launched to cater to the global community of Venezuelans. Additionally, the Cisneros Group has a 0 million real estate project called Tropicalia in the Dominican Republic, which includes a luxury hotel, private residences, and a golf course.

Cisneros Group has 800 employees and offices in Miami, New York, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Spain. With her investments and strategic vision, Adriana Cisneros aims to continue the family’s legacy of success and drive the conglomerate forward.
