The team from Prairie Rivers Network has been diligently researching the impact of herbicide pollution on trees in the Champaign-Urbana area. They want to share their findings and help you identify signs of herbicide pollution in your own backyard.

From our homes and schools to our yards and the vast farmlands of Illinois and the Midwest, herbicides have widespread usage. Unfortunately, PRN’s data has confirmed the presence of herbicides on trees near schools, public boulevards, and city parks. This poses a significant risk to our tree canopy and violates our constitutionally guaranteed right to a healthy environment in Illinois. We must act against herbicide pollution to safeguard the future of our children, our communities, our trees, and our wildlife. Through this Instagram takeover, PRN hopes to raise awareness about the dangers of herbicide pollution and empower the public to take action in protecting our trees and communities.
