SpaceX Reschedules Starlink Mission Launch

SpaceX has rescheduled the launch of a Starlink mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base for the third time. The new target launch date is now Tuesday, August 22 at 12:45 a.m. A Falcon 9 rocket will be launched from Space Launch Complex 4E to carry 21 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit. If needed, additional launch opportunities are available at 1:36 a.m. and 2:26 a.m. There are also four backup opportunities on Tuesday, August 22, starting at 10:45 p.m. until 2:05 a.m. on August 23.

The previous delay was due to storm activity in the Pacific, caused by Hurricane Hilary, which affected recovery operations. On August 17, SpaceX announced the postponement of the Starlink mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The Falcon 9 rocket and 21 Starlink satellites were originally scheduled to launch from Space Launch Complex 4E, however, the launch has been delayed until Monday, August 21 at the earliest.

SpaceX made the decision to stand down from the launch due to the impact of Hurricane Hilary on recovery operations. The next launch opportunity will not be earlier than Monday, August 21. For updates and more information, visit SpaceX’s official website.
