SpaceX Collaborates with Cloudflare to Boost Starlink Internet Service

SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has partnered with online content delivery services provider, Cloudflare, in an effort to enhance the speed and performance of its Starlink satellite internet service. The collaboration aims to improve the network of Starlink’s mini data centers worldwide, according to a source familiar with the project.

By increasing the speed of its internet service, Starlink seeks to further increase its value in a time of growing demand for reliable broadband connectivity. Though originally known for powering online access in Ukraine, Starlink has expanded its subscriber base to 1.5 million as of May, as reported by The Information.

Cloudflare, with data centers in 200 cities globally, specializes in accelerating data transmission throughout the internet. This partnership with SpaceX will contribute to the ongoing development of Starlink’s network infrastructure.

The emergence of satellite-based internet services is on the rise, with Starlink being just one example. Competing services include Amazon’s Kuiper and OneWeb, which has secured backing from multiple companies.

No immediate comments were available from representatives of SpaceX or Starlink regarding the collaboration with Cloudflare.
