Samsung Galaxy S24 Series to Support Satellite Connectivity for Emergency Services

For quite some time, there have been rumors and leaks surrounding Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone series, Galaxy S24. Now, it has been hinted by a Samsung executive that the Galaxy S24 series is expected to support satellite connectivity for emergency services.

Park Yong-in, CEO of Samsung’s System LSI division, confirmed that the tech giant will support satellite connectivity for emergency services starting next year. This indicates that the upcoming Galaxy S24 series, launching early next year, will likely feature two-way satellite connectivity for emergencies.

The Apple iPhone 14 series introduced a similar feature in 2022, and it is also present in the iPhone 15. Samsung had previously unveiled its breakthrough in facilitating two-way satellite connectivity for smartphones. Therefore, it’s possible that this technology will be incorporated into the Galaxy S24 series. However, it remains uncertain whether this feature will be available on all models or limited to the high-end Galaxy S24 Ultra model.

The implementation of two-way satellite connectivity will empower users to send and receive messages about their location and emergencies, even in remote areas without cellular mobile phone network coverage.

In addition to satellite connectivity, Samsung is also planning to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into the Galaxy S24 flagship smartphone series. The company aims to make the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra the “smartest AI phones” ever. These models are expected to incorporate features from ChatGPT and Google Bard, allowing users to generate content and narratives using just a few keywords.

Overall, the Galaxy S24 series is shaping up to be a technologically advanced smartphone lineup that offers satellite connectivity for emergencies and AI capabilities.
