Nanaimo Lego Hobby Group Holds Mid Island Brick Fest to Attract New Members

The Mid Island Lego Users Group (MILUG), a Lego hobby group based in Nanaimo, recently hosted a special event called Mid Island Brick Fest at the Country Club Centre on October 28th. The event aimed to raise awareness about the group and attract new members.

Krista Simpson, co-founder of MILUG, explained that the exhibition showcased a wide variety of Lego creations and activities. Attendees were able to see custom builds, modified builds, literature builds inspired by favorite books, race ramps, and Lego stop motion. The event served as a way for the group to let the community know about their existence and attract new adult members.

Simpson emphasized the importance of events like Mid Island Brick Fest in finding new members for the club. As an adult-only club, MILUG wanted to ensure that people who enjoy building with Lego knew of their presence and had an opportunity to join. By participating in community events and exhibitions, MILUG hopes to connect with Lego enthusiasts who may be building in their basements or private settings.

To find out more about MILUG or to join the group, interested individuals can visit the website www.milug.ca.

Overall, Mid Island Brick Fest was a successful event that raised awareness about the Mid Island Lego Users Group and showcased the creative and diverse Lego builds of its members. By reaching out to the community, MILUG hopes to expand its membership base and provide a welcoming space for adult Lego enthusiasts to connect and collaborate.
