Capcom’s Exoprimal Boosts Digital License Revenue, Thanks to Game Pass

Capcom’s multiplayer dinosaur shooter, Exoprimal, which debuted on Xbox Game Pass in July, has resulted in a significant increase in digital license revenue for the company. According to Capcom’s latest financial results, the boost in revenue is attributed to the licensing revenue from providing Exoprimal to Game Pass.

TechRaptor reports that Capcom’s digital licensing revenue jumped from 2.2 billion yen to 3.7 billion yen, roughly equivalent to .7 million to .7 million, in the first half of the fiscal year. The game quickly amassed over one million players on both Xbox and PC Game Pass, marking an impressive achievement for Capcom.

To celebrate this milestone, Capcom provided players with some free goodies. Additionally, a free content update was released, introducing 10 new Exosuit variants and over 30 modules.

Exoprimal’s success on Xbox Game Pass demonstrates the growing platform’s ability to boost revenue for game developers and publishers. By making their game available through the subscription service, Capcom was able to reach a wider audience, resulting in increased digital license revenue.
