Ryann O’Toole in Contention for Another Title at ISPS Handa World Invitational

Ryann O’Toole, a California native and LPGA player, has been showing her prowess on the international stage. In her 11th season on the LPGA, O’Toole secured her first victory at the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open, winning by a three-stroke margin.

Currently competing in the ISPS Handa World Invitational at Galgorm Castle Golf Club, O’Toole is in a strong position to add another title to her name. In the third round, she made a promising start with two early birdies and finished with a score of 68. While she currently holds the lead at 4 under, Gabrielle Cowley later posted a 67 to take a one-stroke advantage heading into the final round.

O’Toole has been performing well in recent outings, following a string of missed cuts with top-30 finishes at the Amundi Evian Championship and the AIG British Women’s Open. She believes her game is trending in the right direction, noticing improvement and a sense of consistency. Her confidence is growing, and she aims to maintain steady play.

A notable highlight for O’Toole during the tournament was on the 10th hole. After hitting her second shot into a bush, she was forced to chip out. The chip shot ran through the green, but O’Toole impressively responded by sinking the next chip into the hole, securing a birdie.

Galgorm Castle played more forgivingly in the third round compared to the first two rounds, allowing some players, including second-place Esther Henseleit, to take advantage of improved conditions. O’Toole, however, remains optimistic about her chances to secure another victory.

If O’Toole wins the ISPS Handa World Invitational, she will become the sixth American to secure a win on the LPGA Tour this season. Notably, she will also be the oldest winner on the tour this year, surpassing Ashleigh Buhai, who won the ShopRite LPGA Classic at the age of 34.

O’Toole appreciates the challenge of the course, enjoying the variety and the need for strategic shotmaking. She emphasizes the importance of commitment and patience in dealing with the crosswinds and takes each hole as it comes.

With one round remaining, O’Toole is poised to make her mark once again on the international stage.
