EarthLink Expands Business Capabilities through Acquisition

EarthLink, a leading internet provider in the United States, has completed the acquisition of One Ring Networks. This acquisition will enable EarthLink to enhance its business platform capabilities and expand its portfolio of products and services, including high-speed business internet.

One Ring Networks holds a significant market share in Arizona, California, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas. The company offers high-speed, fixed wireless internet service and other communication services to both businesses and consumers. With the acquisition, John Jenkins, President of One Ring Networks, has been appointed as the President of EarthLink Business Services.

Glenn Goad, CEO of EarthLink, expressed excitement about partnering with One Ring and the opportunity to accelerate the rollout of EarthLink Business Services. Goad highlighted the growth potential in the high-speed business internet market and emphasized the use of Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology to better serve customers.

The strategy of EarthLink and One Ring Networks is to continue expanding their platform organically as well as through future acquisitions across the United States. The goal is to serve the growing customer base by providing the best communication services available. The companies aim to become one of the largest, fastest-growing, and top-ranked service providers in the industry.

Shravan Thadani, Partner at Trive Capital, which facilitated the acquisition, highlighted the complementary nature of EarthLink and One Ring. He emphasized that the combined company will provide reliable and high-speed internet services to businesses and consumers nationwide. Thadani also mentioned the significant advancements in FWA technology that support One Ring’s offerings and will enhance EarthLink’s Business Services capabilities.

EarthLink, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Atlanta, offers high-speed internet access, premium email, web hosting, and privacy and data security products to approximately 750,000 consumer and business customers across the United States. The company has partnerships with some of the nation’s largest providers, allowing it to offer products and connectivity services to millions of households nationwide.

One Ring Networks, founded in 2010 and based in Athens, Texas, is an industry-leading provider of voice and data services. It offers fixed wireless internet service and other communication solutions to businesses and consumers in multiple states. With a focus on local customer service and innovation, One Ring Networks has become a preferred fixed wireless internet carrier in the U.S.

Trive Capital, a private equity firm based in Dallas, facilitated the acquisition. With over billion in regulatory assets under management, Trive focuses on investing in middle-market companies with the potential for significant growth through operational improvement. The company’s experienced team has been involved in numerous middle-market transactions across various industries.
