Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 2412, NYSE: CHT) announced its unaudited operating results for the second quarter of 2023. The total revenue increased by 2.0% to NT.46 billion. The revenue of the Consumer Business Group rose by 3.9% to NT.76 billion, while the Enterprise Business Group revenue decreased by 1.2% to NT.54 billion. The International Business Group revenue increased by 23.2% to NT.17 billion.

The operating costs and expenses saw a 2.0% increase to NT.20 billion. The operating income increased by 2.0% to NT.26 billion, and the EBITDA increased by 1.0% to NT.19 billion. The net income attributable to stockholders of the parent increased by 2.9% to NT.93 billion, with a basic earnings per share (EPS) of NT.28.

Chunghwa Telecom had a strong first half of the year, with an EPS of NTD.52, the highest in six years. The mobile business revenue showed impressive growth with a 6.4% year-over-year increase, surpassing competitors. The company also experienced growth in subscriber and Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). The Taiwan mobile market revenue share climbed to 39.9%, and the subscriber share reached 37.0%. The company’s incremental excess revenue share also increased to 2.9%, reflecting a healthier subscriber structure and better revenue generation compared to peers.
