CelcomDigi has launched a wireless 5G broadband plan called CelcomDigi 5G Home WiFi, catering specifically to homes without fibre coverage. Priced at RM199/month, the plan is currently being offered at a promotional price of RM149/month for a limited time. Customers will be tied to a 24-month contract.

With this plan, users can enjoy unlimited broadband and are provided with a dual-band 4G/5G wireless router. Resembling Celcom’s previous Unlimited 5G wireless broadband, the new plan offers 5G speeds on a best effort basis, without any mention of a speed cap. The CelcomDigi 5G Home WiFi plan includes a monthly data quota of 1000GB.

Once the quota is depleted, the speed is reduced to 512kbps until the next billing cycle. However, customers have the option to purchase add-on packages to regain full speed. CelcomDigi offers packages starting from RM10 for 50GB, which is valid for 24 hours. Alternatively, users can choose to add 20GB for RM40 or 40GB for RM70, with both options valid until the next billing cycle.

During the registration process, customers must make an upfront payment of RM480. This amount will be rebated back to their account over the course of 24 months. Foreigners can also sign up for the plan but are required to pay a RM500 deposit. In the event of early termination before the 24-month contract period, customers need to settle the full remaining balance of the contract or a minimum of RM500, whichever is higher.

The CelcomDigi 5G Home WiFi plan includes the ZTE MC801A 5G indoor wireless router, which is valued at RM1,899 and comes with a 24-month warranty. The router supports WiFi 6 and operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. Customers are allowed to keep the router once the contract is completed.
