Alexa Pano and Daniel Brown Win ISPS Handa World Invitational

American golfer, Alexa Pano, celebrated her 19th birthday with a victory at the ISPS Handa World Invitational. In the final round on the Galgorm course, Pano shot a 6-under 66, resulting in a three-way tie with Gabriella Cowley of England and Esther Henseleit of Germany, all finishing on 8-under totals of 281.

The tournament, co-sanctioned by the European men’s tour and the LPGA Tour, required a playoff to determine the winner. Pano clinched the victory on the third hole by defeating Cowley. Henseleit was eliminated on the first extra hole.

Pano expressed her excitement about winning the event on her birthday, stating, “It feels so surreal that it’s happened.”

Meanwhile, in the men’s event, Daniel Brown secured a comfortable victory. The Englishman led from day one and closed with a 69 for a 15-under total of 266. He finished five shots ahead of compatriot Alex Fitzpatrick.

Brown started the day with a six-shot lead, which was briefly narrowed to two strokes. However, three birdies in four holes ensured his first career victory.

“It’s amazing,” Brown commented on his win. “I could never have dreamed this up over the past however many years. I don’t think it’s sunk in.”

The ISPS Handa World Invitational took place at the Galgorm Castle Golf Club and the Castlerock Golf Club. Each player played one round at each venue over the first two days, with all the action concentrated at Galgorm for the final two rounds.
