Ukraine’s Youngest Minister Aims to Build Army of Killer Robots

Mykhailo Fedorov, the 32-year-old minister for digital transformation in Ukraine, is spearheading an effort to build an army of killer robots to help defend the country against Russia. Fedorov believes that advancing technology can save the lives of Ukrainian soldiers and offset Russia’s advantage in manpower.

Under Fedorov’s leadership, more than 200 Ukrainian companies have been involved in developing the next generation of weapons for the armed struggle against Russian invaders. Soviet-legacy laws have been scrapped, state procurement rules have been eased, and a free-market environment has been established to encourage innovation.

The current focus is on creating an “Army of Robots” that can carry out tasks that would normally put soldiers at risk. Automated machine guns with AI aiming systems have already been deployed, and plans are in place to develop robots capable of laying mines and removing explosives left by Russian forces. The goal is to have robots absorb as much enemy firepower as possible to protect the lives of Ukrainian soldiers.

Fedorov also envisions fleets of self-driving vehicles that can transport weapons, deliver ammunition, and evacuate wounded soldiers from the front line. The next generation of air-defense sensors, which combine secretive technologies with artificial intelligence, have already undergone successful tests. These sensors can identify Russian missiles and drones, providing crucial information about the situation in Ukrainian skies.

Many of these projects are made possible through fundraising campaigns led by celebrities like Mark Hamill, Oleksandr Usyk, and Sir Richard Branson. The funds raised have been used to purchase medical supplies, rebuild Ukraine, and supply drones for the armed forces. Fedorov believes that these initiatives will not only benefit Ukraine but also contribute to the development of future technologies that can be adopted by other countries.
