Z-Wave Alliance Launches Trident IoT to Simplify RF Development for Connected Devices

The Z-Wave Alliance has announced the launch of Trident IoT, a new technology and engineering company focused on simplifying RF development and reducing time-to-market for connected device manufacturers. Trident IoT will serve as a direct supplier of Z-Wave silicon chips and modules to Alliance members, offering product design and development services. It has also opened a Z-Wave device certification laboratory in the United States.

Trident IoT aims to support the development of new features, enhancements, and custom applications on Z-Wave Technology. By providing a direct source for Z-Wave chips and modules, along with personalized product engineering support and U.S.-based Z-Wave certification, the company seeks to empower connected device manufacturers to innovate more efficiently.

The operational Z-Wave certification lab of Trident IoT, located in New Jersey, is fully equipped for compliance testing of Z-Wave Plus and Z-Wave Plus v2 standards and specifications. Several Z-Wave Alliance manufacturer members have already started utilizing the certification house, and new devices can be added to the queue.

The U.S.-based Z-Wave device certification service offered by Trident IoT aims to facilitate communication between manufacturers and the certification process. This ensures that any arising issues can be resolved quickly, enabling manufacturers to bring their products to the market faster.

Mariusz Malkowski, Chief Technology Officer and Founder of Trident IoT, states that their goal is to help Z-Wave device members continue to innovate and implement new features seamlessly. He highlights the significance of the newly introduced Z-Wave Long Range, which enables new use cases with remarkable capabilities.

The Z-Wave Alliance sees the launch of Trident IoT as a monumental achievement for the smart home and IoT industry. By providing Z-Wave developers with an additional resource for silicon, Trident IoT is expected to accelerate the time it takes to bring Z-Wave devices to market.
