True Anomaly, a recently unveiled company, has inaugurated its new spacecraft manufacturing facility named GravityWorks in Centennial, Colorado. The facility, spanning 35,000 square feet, will serve as the headquarters for its Jackal autonomous orbital vehicles (AOVs). True Anomaly is confident that its innovative assembly line approach will enable it to produce a fully-tested satellite every five days.

In addition to the opening of the new facility, True Anomaly also made two significant announcements. The company has obtained a license from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to operate its first two Jackal vehicles for non-Earth imaging remote sensing. This capability will include a range of imaging techniques such as radar, shortwave infrared, longwave infrared, and visible wide and narrow field of view.

Furthermore, True Anomaly has received authorizations from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to conduct on-ground testing of Jackal transmitters and to demonstrate spacecraft-to-spacecraft rendezvous once the vehicles are in orbit. Both Jackal vehicles are scheduled for launch in February 2024 as part of the SpaceX Transporter-10 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base.
