Colorado-based startup True Anomaly has unveiled its new 35,000 square-foot manufacturing facility named GravityWorks. The facility will be used to produce the company’s Jackal spacecraft, with an aim to manufacture a “mission-ready” satellite every five days. True Anomaly’s Jackal spacecraft are designed for rendezvous and proximity operations, making them ideal for satellite servicing missions such as in-orbit refueling or repair.

During the grand opening event, True Anomaly CEO Even Rogers announced that the company has received authorization from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Federal Communications Commission to perform rendezvous and proximity missions with its Jackal vehicle. The spacecraft has also been approved to use onboard sensors for non-Earth imaging, allowing it to collect data even in poor lighting conditions.

These authorizations and the new manufacturing facility mark significant milestones for True Anomaly. In April, the company emerged from stealth mode and announced that it had raised million in private capital. In June, True Anomaly revealed plans to launch two Jackal spacecraft as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-10 mission in February 2024, providing simulated and live training range services to customers.

The Space Force is currently developing a National Space Test and Training Complex, and True Anomaly intends to offer its capabilities to the service. True Anomaly’s GravityWorks facility is built to efficiently meet the production needs of military space customers and tackle tactical challenges through a combination of hardware, software, and AI solutions.
