The New England Patriots are planning to have their full roster play in their upcoming preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. According to Greg Bedard of Boston Sports Journal, the team’s starters, including rookie quarterback Mac Jones, are expected to see about a quarter of playing time. Bedard also noted that rookie Marte Mapu, who has been cleared for full contact, could see decent playing time as well.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss also weighed in on the team’s approach for the game. He mentioned that Bill Belichick, the Patriots’ head coach, is likely to give most players a taste of game speed and monitor their performance while being mindful of the team’s quick turnaround for practice on Tuesday in Tennessee. Reiss also suggested that it might be too early to see running back Ezekiel Elliott in action, considering he recently signed with the team.

While Mac Jones is expected to start the game at quarterback for the Patriots, it remains to be seen how much playing time he will receive. After Jones’ night is finished, sophomore Bailey Zappe is likely to take over. However, there is anticipation among Patriots fans to see undrafted quarterback/receiver Malik Cunningham in action. Cunningham’s impressive drive in the preseason opener garnered significant attention.
