Hughes Managed LEO Services Now Available to Federal Government Agencies

Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), an EchoStar company, has received a five-year, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract from the U.S. Space Force for low-latency Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite-based services. The contract, valued at up to 0 million, allows the U.S. Department of Defense, other federal agencies, and international coalition partners to procure fully managed LEO services from Hughes.

Under the IDIQ contract, government and defense agencies can leverage capacity on two constellations: OneWeb and EchoStar Lyra. Hughes offers its OneWeb offering, which includes a low-power, light-weight, flat panel antenna, as well as its next-generation EchoStar Lyra S-band IoT system. These solutions provide robust and resilient low-latency connectivity at a competitive price.

Hughes has previously announced a distribution agreement with OneWeb Technologies Inc. to deliver managed LEO services to the Department of Defense. These services are now available through the IDIQ contract and the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule. Narrowband services over the EchoStar Lyra constellation are also available under the IDIQ contract.

The addition of these LEO capabilities will offer cost-effective solutions, enhanced reliability, and resiliency in satellite communications for the Department of Defense across all domains. Hughes is ready to address upcoming requirements and provide procurement of these services.
