English Golfers Hold Leads in ISPS Handa World Invitational

English golfers Daniel Brown and Gabriella Cowley are in the lead heading into the final round of the ISPS Handa World Invitational, a tournament co-sanctioned by the European Tour and LPGA Tour.

Daniel Brown began the third round with a six-shot lead and maintained that advantage with a 3-under 67, including birdies on two of his last three holes. His closest competitors are Alex Fitzpatrick and Wilco Nienaber, who both shot solid rounds of 67 and 63 respectively. Adrian Otageui is one stroke further behind after a 66.

Currently ranked 384th in the world, Daniel Brown has never won a European Tour event but has had success on both the European and PGA Tours, finishing in a tie for seventh in the Barbasol Championship.

Gabriella Cowley shot a 5-under 67, placing her at 6-under overall and one stroke ahead of Ryann O’Toole from the United States and Esther Henseleit from Germany, who carded rounds of 68 and 69 respectively.

Marissa Steen, the American player who led after the third round, dropped down to a tie for 11th place and is now six shots off the lead after shooting a disappointing 75.

The tournament is being held at the parkland Galgorm Castle Golf Club and the links at Castlerock Golf Club. Over the first two days, every men’s and women’s player completed one round at each venue before all the action moved to Galgorm for the final two rounds.
