Apple is gearing up to launch three new M3 chips at its highly anticipated “Scary Fast” Mac event, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The event, scheduled to commence at 8 PM ET, is expected to feature various hardware announcements, including the potential debut of a new 24-inch iMac and updated MacBook Pros powered by the new M3 series.

In his Power On newsletter, Gurman provides some insights into the specifications of these upcoming chips. The standard M3 chip is speculated to possess an eight-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, similar to its predecessor, the M2. However, the M3 is anticipated to deliver improved performance speed and memory enhancements.

Additionally, Apple is reportedly testing multiple configurations for the M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. The M3 Pro might feature a 12-core CPU and an 18-core GPU, with a more expensive option that boasts a 14-core CPU and a 20-core GPU. On the other hand, the M3 Max is rumored to offer a whopping 16 CPU cores and either 32 or 40 GPU cores.
