Remedy, the developer of Alan Wake 2, has confirmed that the new survival horror game will be receiving two DLC expansions in 2024. The first expansion, titled Night Springs, is expected to be released in late spring 2024, followed by the second expansion, The Lakehouse, which currently does not have a release window.

Night Springs is a reference to the fictional TV show that appears in the Alan Wake games and Control. The DLC will allow players to experience the unexplainable in multiple self-contained episodes of Night Springs, playing as several familiar characters from the world of Alan Wake.

On the other hand, The Lakehouse is described as a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake, set up by an independent government organization for secret research. Something goes wrong, leading players to embark on two separate adventures as the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake collide again.

In addition to the DLC expansions, Remedy has also confirmed two new features that will be added to Alan Wake 2 for free. A New Game+ mode, known in-game as Final Draft, is expected to be released in the next month. This mode will introduce a new Nightmare difficulty level, additional Manuscript pages, and other surprises. The other feature is a Photo Mode, allowing players to capture and share their favorite moments from the game.

Alan Wake 2 was released on October 27 and has received high praise from critics. The game sets a new standard for narrative horror titles, according to Player 2. Kotaku Australia will soon publish its review of the highly anticipated Alan Wake sequel.
