Agreement Establishes Long-term Geosynchronous Orbit (GEO) Foundation for KVH’s Hybrid Maritime Connectivity Solutions

KVH Industries, Inc. has announced the completion of a three-year renewal of its satellite services contract with Intelsat. This renewal includes increased network capacity, flexibility for future bandwidth adjustments, and reduced service costs. These improvements will allow KVH to offer more competitive airtime rates for mariners.

The long-standing partnership between KVH and Intelsat began in 2017 when KVH became the launch partner for Intelsat’s FlexMaritime network. Over 7,100 commercial, leisure, and military vessels worldwide rely on KVH and Intelsat’s FlexMaritime high-throughput satellites (HTS) for connectivity, content, cybersecurity, and other critical services.

KVH ONE™ hybrid network integrates Ku-band GEO services, low earth orbit (LEO) services, worldwide 5G/LTE cellular communications, and shore-based Wi-Fi services. It provides a seamlessly managed network to ensure sailors are always connected.

KVH is a leader in maritime connectivity services, and the partnership with Intelsat enables them to offer high-performing and reliable connectivity. Combined with KVH’s innovative tools and support, customers have access to a wide range of capabilities and mission-critical applications.

Access to KVH’s KVH ONE network is now easier than ever. With Ku-band speeds as fast as 20/3 Mbps (down/up), affordable airtime, and value-added services, mariners can stay connected. KVH’s TracNet™ product line offers three terminals that integrate satellite, cellular, and Wi-Fi technology with automatic switching to ensure the best communication option at all times.

In addition, KVH ONE OpenNet Program allows vessels with non-KVH VSAT antennas to enjoy global VSAT coverage from KVH through a simple software update.

These developments will enhance maritime connectivity and provide sailors with reliable and efficient communication options while at sea.
