Wisconsin Governor Approves U.S. 8 Culvert Replacement Project in Rusk County

The governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, has given his approval for a culvert replacement and repair project on U.S. 8 in Rusk County. Spanning from Ladysmith to the east county line, the project will involve replacing 35 pipes and abandoning two others.

In an effort to improve and invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers has signed a contract worth .73 million with the prime contractor, Antczak Construction, Inc. of Cameron. They will be responsible for carrying out the culvert replacement project on U.S. 8, starting from Old 8 Road/East 16th Street North in Ladysmith and extending eastward to the Price County line.

This project aims to address the aging infrastructure and ensure the continued safety and efficiency of the road. Due to the deteriorating condition of the existing culverts, it has become necessary to replace them and make repairs.

The work is scheduled to begin next week, with Antczak Construction, Inc. leading the efforts. The project will involve removing and replacing a total of 35 pipes, with two additional pipes being abandoned. The replacement and repair work will be carried out along the stretch between Ladysmith and the east county line.

By investing in infrastructure improvements like this culvert replacement project, Governor Evers is demonstrating his commitment to maintaining and enhancing Wisconsin’s transportation system. This project will result in a more reliable and efficient U.S. 8 for the residents and travelers in Rusk County and beyond.
