The Growing Demand for Mid-Range Smartphones in India

With a price-sensitive market like India, smartphone makers are introducing an array of devices to cater to various customers. The mid-range segment, which costs around Rs 20,000 and lower, indicates that customers prioritize affordability over exclusive features. However, these mid-range smartphones have now reached a level of parity with their pricier counterparts in terms of features.

One option is the Samsung Galaxy M34 5G, priced just under Rs 20,000. This mid-range smartphone boasts a Super AMOLED 120Hz display, Samsung’s Exynos 1280 SoC, and up to 128GB of internal storage. Its triple camera module includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The phone is available in two versions – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.

The OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G, starting at Rs 19,999, offers great value for money. It features an IPS LCD 120Hz display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 SoC, and up to 256GB of storage. The triple-camera module includes a primary 108-megapixel sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The pricing for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant begins at Rs 19,999.

Motorola G73 5G, priced at Rs 18,999, is another solid choice in the mid-range segment. It offers a 120Hz display, a large battery, a decent dual-camera setup, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 930 SoC. This phone provides a near-stock Android 13 experience.

For those willing to stretch their budget slightly, the Poco X5 Pro 5G is worth considering. It features a 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and a triple-camera module with a primary 108-megapixel sensor. The price starts at Rs 22,999 but often goes on sale for as low as Rs 20,999.

Lastly, the Oppo A78 5G, starting at Rs 18,999, offers a high-resolution screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 SoC and a dual-camera module featuring a primary 50-megapixel sensor.

These mid-range smartphones provide competitive features at affordable prices, catering to the growing demand in India’s price-sensitive market.
