Starlink Offers Discounts on Hardware Fees for Australians in Remote Areas

For the past few months, Starlink has been offering significant discounts on hardware fees for Australians residing in remote and regional areas. Instead of paying the regular price of 4, eligible customers in select rural locations can now purchase Starlink hardware for just 9 until August 25th.

Although 9 is slightly higher than the previous discount of 9, it is still a more affordable option compared to the standard price. Starlink’s residential plans, priced at 9 per month, are considered relatively expensive for satellite internet. In contrast, the newer unlimited Sky Muster Plus Premium satellite NBN plans typically cost a maximum of per month.

However, if the current NBN service is not meeting expectations, Starlink may be worth considering. Starlink plans are contract-free and include a 30-day trial period. If you decide to cancel within the first 30 days after receiving the hardware, you will receive a full refund for the equipment upon its return, excluding shipping and handling fees.

Furthermore, Starlink has gained attention in Australia through partnerships with Telstra and Optus. Telstra plans to start reselling Starlink internet plans bundled with a home phone service by the end of this year. Optus, on the other hand, intends to utilize Starlink satellites to enhance its mobile coverage starting from late 2024.

By offering discounted hardware fees and forming partnerships with major Australian telecommunication companies, Starlink aims to provide more accessible internet options for remote and regional areas.
